FANCINE filmfest to screen Iran’s ‘Extra Sauce’

Iran-Germany joint production ‘Extra Sauce’ is to be screened at the Spanish FANCINE - Fantastic Film Festival.

The award-winning short, directed by Alireza Ghasemi, will represent Iran at the 2020 edition of the festival.

‘Extra Sauce’ previously won the best actor award at the Canberra International Film Festival.

The film has also participated in various international film festivals around the globe.

The film narrates the story of “Hans, a mediocre heartbroken actor, who is greeted by an Angel of Death after attempting to take his life an hour before his play's premiere.

A sarcastic dark humor conversation begins as Hans tries to convince the Angel that he should be brought back to the world of the living while the Angel enjoys delicious cheeseburgers and lemonade and gives the actor relationship advice.”

Ghasemi’s previous directorial experience ‘Lunch Time’ won several awards in various festivals around the world as well.

Annually held in November, the FANCINE filmfest is one of the oldest European festivals focusing on various cinematic genres.

The 30th edition of the event is slated to launch on November 11 – 19, 2020.
